The short answer

How much does HubSpot cost?

For a typical 10–25 person B2B company using marketing, sales and support seriously, HubSpot costs roughly $1,500 to $3,000 per month at list price, plus one-time onboarding of $1,500 to $7,000 where HubSpot makes it mandatory. A two-person startup on Starter can run the same motions for under $100 a month. A 300-person business on Enterprise with a large contact database routinely passes $10,000 a month.

The spread is that wide because HubSpot's price is not driven by the hub you pick. It is driven by four things, roughly in order of impact: how many marketing contacts you email, how many people need to edit rather than read, whether any single requirement forces Enterprise, and whether you commit annually.

The four things that actually set your bill

1. Marketing contacts, not CRM contacts

HubSpot lets you store contacts for free. You pay for the ones flagged as marketing contacts — the people you can email or target with ads. Every edition includes an allowance, and above it you buy blocks. The single most common overspend we find in audits is a portal where every imported record was marked as a marketing contact, including unsubscribed, bounced and long-dead leads, tripling a bill for no return.

2. Seats, and who actually needs one

Core seats, Sales seats and Service seats are priced separately, and each edition includes only a small number. Anyone who only needs to look at dashboards can have a free view-only seat. Buying paid seats for finance, leadership and the wider team is the second most common overspend, and it compounds because seats price at the tier of your highest subscription.

3. Requirements that force Enterprise

A handful of features exist only in Enterprise: custom objects, advanced permission sets and teams, predictive lead scoring, single sign-on, sandboxes and field-level permissions. One of them in your requirements list can add a four-figure monthly cost for a single capability. That is why this calculator shows expensive single requirements separately, with the marginal cost each one carries.

4. Onboarding and billing term

HubSpot requires a paid onboarding package on Professional and Enterprise. It is a one-time cost, it is real, and it does not include the implementation work itself. Annual billing saves roughly 10% but locks the term.

Where the estimate is likely to be wrong

Deliberately, in your favour: this tool applies list price with no discount. In practice HubSpot discounts, particularly on multi-hub and multi-year deals and particularly at quarter end. The other direction — where the estimate can come in low — is credit consumption on AI features, which depends on usage patterns nobody can predict before go-live, and third-party tools you still need alongside HubSpot.

The number it will not get wrong is the shape: which hub and edition your requirements demand, and which single requirement is responsible for the biggest jump. That is the part worth arguing about before you sign.

How to make the quote smaller

  • Re-classify marketing contacts down to the people you genuinely email this quarter.
  • Move everyone who only reads reports onto free view-only seats.
  • Challenge every Enterprise-forcing requirement — one of them is usually a nice-to-have.
  • Start Starter for a hub you are unsure about, and upgrade once it earns it.
  • Commit annually only for the hubs you are certain about.
  • Buy at the end of HubSpot's quarter, with a competing quote in hand.

Questions

HubSpot pricing questions, answered

How much does HubSpot actually cost per month?

For a 10–25 person B2B company running marketing, sales and support properly, HubSpot list price usually lands between $1,500 and $3,000 a month once seats and marketing contacts are counted, plus mandatory one-time onboarding where HubSpot requires it — $1,500 for Sales Hub Professional, $3,000 for Marketing Hub Professional, $3,500 for Sales or Service Hub Enterprise and $7,000 for Marketing Hub Enterprise. The sticker price of a hub is rarely the bill: seats, contact tiers above the included allowance, and required onboarding typically account for more than half the total.

Why is my HubSpot quote so much higher than the pricing page?

The pricing page shows the entry price for an edition with its included seats. Your quote adds paid seats for everyone who edits, marketing-contact blocks above the included tier, mandatory onboarding on the editions that require it, and any hub you needed for a single feature. This calculator itemises all four so nothing appears at signature stage.

Are HubSpot marketing contacts the same as CRM contacts?

No, and this is the most expensive misunderstanding in HubSpot pricing. You can store an effectively unlimited number of CRM contacts. You only pay for contacts marked as marketing contacts — the ones you email or advertise to. Companies routinely mark their whole database as marketing and pay several times what they need to.

Does HubSpot require paid onboarding?

HubSpot requires a paid onboarding package on Professional and Enterprise editions. Starter editions do not require it. The fee is one-time and is included in the year-one totals shown here, but it does not buy an implementation — it buys guided sessions. Most companies still need someone to do the actual configuration.

Is annual billing cheaper than monthly in HubSpot?

Yes, typically around 10% cheaper, in exchange for a 12-month commitment you cannot downgrade mid-term. Some editions are only sold on annual terms. If you are unsure about a hub, paying monthly for the first quarter is often worth the premium.

How does the calculator decide which edition I need?

Each outcome you select maps to specific HubSpot capabilities, and each capability has a documented availability level per hub and edition. The solver picks the cheapest edition per hub that covers every required capability, then prices seats, contact tiers, credits and onboarding on top. Nothing is guessed — you can see exactly which requirement forced each upgrade.

What is a pricing cliff in HubSpot?

A pricing cliff is a single requirement that on its own pushes a hub from Professional to Enterprise, often adding $1,000 or more a month for one feature. Custom objects, advanced permissions, predictive lead scoring and single sign-on are the usual culprits. The calculator lists these separately so you can decide whether the feature is worth the jump, or whether a third-party tool solves it cheaper.

How accurate are these numbers?

They are HubSpot USD list prices from the published product catalog, applied by a deterministic engine — no discounts, no markup and no guesswork. Real quotes vary with negotiated discounts, multi-year commitments, region and tax. Treat this as a planning figure accurate enough to budget with, and confirm the final number with HubSpot or with us.

Can I reduce a HubSpot quote?

Almost always. In our audits the biggest levers, in order, are: re-classifying marketing contacts, cutting paid seats for people who only read reports, dropping one Enterprise-forcing requirement, committing annually, and buying at the end of HubSpot's quarter when discounting is most available.

Do you need to buy every HubSpot hub?

No. Hubs are sold separately and most companies need one or two. Buying the full Customer Platform bundle makes sense when you genuinely use three or more hubs at the same edition; below that it usually costs more than buying what you need.
